This is the perfect size and shape for a savarin. The pan is substantial in weight and uniform in thickness. Because of the quality of materials and construction, it heats uniformly. The design of the pan with the generous hollow center helps baked goods cook faster than a solid-center pan. This pan is also great for smaller batches of cake. I have made half-recipes of carrot cake, banana bread and vanilla cake.It is not non-stick…which I actually view as a positive quality. This pan does require generous buttering, followed by a light dusting w/ flour before baking most cakes. For the savarin, just generous buttering will do.Overall, I recommend this pan for savarin and for half-batches of most cake recipes.
