This is absolutely the rig for most dogs. There was a training curve, but the puppies have the hang of it now. Our great big guy put some unanticipated damage on the ladder and the seller made it good. We have a 140# Newfoundland and a 70# Golden. We are able to tie this off to our dock and also toss it up on the boat to take out in the lake for deep water boarding.We brought it along for an adventure, camping on an island off our boat for a week. It fit great in the boat all rolled up along with coolers and gear and we actually considered dragging it into the tent and sleeping on it (but didn’t.).Both dogs are now adept at boarding. We have a Newfoundland and he is a long dog, so I may reinforce the hem area with Aquaseal to make sure our big guy’s has food purchase.One feature I haven’t seen on other, similar platforms are the stabilizing pockets on the underside. I can sit on the same edge with both dogs and it doesn’t tip over. It requires a bit of thought when pulling it up, but provides essential stability when in use.Note on the electric pump. these little, high volume pumps run hot and are not intended as topping pumps. They will give 2-3 PSI, max. The minute you hear a load on the pump, shut it down and use the supplied hand pump to top it off.Initial impression: I was looking for a boarding platform for our dogs.We had a Load-a-pup that was sufficient for our former golden to get aboard or 18′ bow rider. It’s too small for a 140# Newf. Last year, we got them a lily pad, which they could get on and off of, but the foam shredded. I was back on the hunt and saw these drop stitch inflatables hitting the market. As a former raft guide, I’m familiar with this type of product.The dogs, love it. It’s much bigger than I expected, though not too big for me to lift and carry when it’s rolled, and even when inflated.
