The A/C company that services my unit was charging me a CRAZY amount of money to add a UV light to my air handler… in the hundreds of dollars.I did my homework and after checking a lot of option I opted for this light/model in particular. This unit has a selector that allows you to choose between 110V or 220V.Note that if you decide to install it yourself, you have to know something about electricity; especially if your unit runs on 220 volts. Once I identify the two points where I would need to attach the wires, installation was a breeze. The light is long and that is a real plus because it covers a larger area, of course. The light holder is a little big but that is not necessarily bad. The magnet is strong enough to hold it in place.By the way, part of the research I did included knowing how much replacement light bulbs would cost and how easy they are to come by. The replacements for this unit are not very cheap but they are affordable compared to others that cost almost as much as the entire unit. Do you homework on it.All in all, I know UV lights have a set limited lifespan of about a year. I am hoping at least the ballast will last me a few years.
